Auburn transfer quarterback Walker White committed to Baylor, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He spent one season on The Plains and became one of the top quarterbacks to enter the transfer portal.

White appeared in one game as a true freshman at Auburn, throwing for 15 yards in a November win over Louisiana-Monroe. He will arrive in Waco with all four years of eligibility remaining after preserving a redshirt.

White played high school football at Little Rock (AR) Christian Academy, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 86 overall player and No. 7-ranked quarterback from the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

After entering the portal, Walker White became one of the top quarterbacks to hit the open market. He ranks as the No. 82 overall player and No. 10-ranked QB to hit the portal this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.

White took a visit to Baylor earlier this month, and On3’s Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong reported the positive impact it had on his recruitment. Now, he’s committing to Dave Aranda and the Bears, who are coming off an impressive bounce-back season in 2024.

Aranda entered the season on plenty of hot-seat watch lists, but turned around and led Baylor to an 8-4 record in a jam-packed Big 12. The Bears secured a spot in the Texas Bowl, where they’ll take on LSU on New Year’s Eve.

Baylor has also been active in the transfer portal since the window opened Dec. 9. As of Saturday afternoon, the Bears had nine players committed, including former Alabama wide receiver Kobe Prentice. A former four-star recruit, he arrives as the No. 112 overall player in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.

Prentice spent three years at Alabama and was the Crimson Tide’s fifth-leading receiver this past season. His best stats came as a freshman in 2022 when he had 337 yards and two touchdowns to cement himself as a solid piece in the offense.

The NCAA transfer portal window opened Dec. 9 following the final College Football Playoff rankings reveal. The window officially closed Saturday, Dec. 28, but schools have up to two days to put players’ names in the portal once they receive notice of their plans to transfer.
