Auburn vs. LSU odds: Early point spread released on dual Tigers matchup
LSU has opened as a 13-point (-550) betting favorite over Auburn ahead of Week 7’s SEC matchup inside Death Valley, per FanDuel SportsBook. The over/under total is set at 58.5 total points.
To LSU fans, that line is more than fair after the masterful performance by QB Jayden Daniels on Saturday against Missouri. Daniels totaled 389 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns in a gutsy 49-39 victory on the road.
The week before, Daniels put up 414 passing yards, 99 rushing yards and five total touchdowns against Ole Miss in a losing effort. Since beginning SEC play, the offensive unit has scored 173 total points over their span of four conference games with an average of 43.3 points per outing.
These types of performances are becomming a weekly occurance for Daniels and LSU and despite suffering two losses throug six games, Daniels is looking more like a Heisman Trophy frontrunner each time he leads the Bayou Bengals out onto the gridiron.
Auburn, on the other hand, will enter Week 7 still searching for its first SEC victory of the season.

The good thing, however, is the fact that Auburn was on its bye week over the weekend. They’ll be the fresher team than LSU, who enters the matchup having played in their two highest-scoring games in consecutive weeks.
Whether Auburn is able to take advantage of this remains to be seen, but they’re coming off their strongest performance of the season themselves with a seven-point loss to No. 1 Georgia. If it weren’t for a Brock Bowers touchdown reception during the final three minutes of the game, we could be talking about Auburn in a completely different light. Instead, they’re 3-2 with wins against Massachusetts, Cal and Samford.
The stats won’t tell you the game vs. Georgia was close, though. Starting quarterback Payton Thorne couldn’t get going in the passing game, finishing the matchup with 82 passing yards and 92 rushing yards with one touchdown to show for it.
Even through Thorne’s struggles, head coach Hugh Freeze hasn’t felt like its time to turn toward backups Robby Ashford or Holden Geriner, but it’s unlikely they’d be able to contribute anything that Thorne doesn’t already bring to the table. Regardless, more will be needed out of the quarterback position if they want to pull off the upset on the road at LSU.
Saturday’s opening kickoff is set 7 p.m. ET live on ESPN.
