The game officials for the Elite Eight contest between Auburn and Michigan State have been announced. The referees could have a big impact on the game, though both teams will hope not.

The officials calling the game are Jeffrey Anderson, Don Daily and Ronald Groover. The standby official is Vladimir Voyard-Tadal.

Each of the referees has extensive college basketball experience. And to date there haven’t been a ton of complaints about officiating in the Elite Eight round. Most fans will hope that continues going forward.

As for the game itself, it will pit the top two seeds in the South Region against each other. Auburn is 31-5 entering the game, while Michigan State is just one game worse at 30-6.

Both teams have had some tough games to get to this point. That’s fairly typical in March, of course.

Michigan State got a gritty win over No. 6 seed Ole Miss. The Spartans prevailed 73-70, in a game they had to battle back in the second half. MSU got 20 points and six rebounds from Jase Richardson in the win.

Auburn managed to pull away from the Michigan Wolverines in the second half, outscoring them 42-23 after halftime. It all started with an initial 10-0 run, where the Tigers delivered a stunning blow from which the Wolverines could not recover. Auburn won 78-65.

Johni Broome played incredible for Auburn, pumping in 22 points and 16 rebounds. The Tigers’ Denver Jones was also electrifying, pouring in 20 points and grabbing four rebounds. And Auburn freshman Tahaad Pettiford was once again sensational, pumping in 20 points and dishing out three assists.

Odds for Auburn vs. Michigan State

According to FanDuel, Auburn is a 5.5-point favorite against Michigan State. Additionally, the Tigers boast -230 odds on the money line. Michigan State has +188 odds on the money line.

The over/under for the game is set at 149.5 points. Vegas seems to think this one is going to be lower scoring than some of the other Elite Eight matchups.
