For the first time as members of the SEC, Auburn and Oklahoma are set to face off against one another. Jordan-Hare Stadium will play host, sending the Sooners on the road after opening up conference play against Tennessee in Norman. Both programs are desperate to get back on track with a win on Saturday afternoon.

Before getting to kickoff, there are some injuries to deal with. Wednesday’s availability report has been released by the SEC, listing multiple players on each side.

Three more reports will be provided before the game. Thursday and Friday evening before Saturday’s comes is around an hour and a half before getting underway. There is a lot of time for players to recover and find their way onto the field.

Auburn, Oklahoma with quarterback questions entering game

Oklahoma made the decision to bench Jackson Arnold against Tennessee, riding with true freshman Michael Hawkins. Head coach Brent Venables did not waste much time letting a quarterback competition play out, naming Hawkins the starter moving forward on Monday.

Auburn went through something similar against Arkansas. Hank Brown made his second career start but after three interceptions, Hugh Freeze went back to Payton Thorne. Despite Thorne throwing an interception, the Tigers’ offense did have a little more life to it with the veteran in there.

Freeze has yet to name a starter for Saturday’s game. No timeline for a decision has been made either, making it quite possible we do not know until somebody runs onto the field.
