It’s down to six for an On300 safety in the class of 2023.

Montgomery (Ala.) Alabama Christian Academy safety Avery Stuart announced his top-six schools on Twitter Friday afternoon. Stuart’s list consists of: Auburn, Florida State, Arkansas, Miami, Kentucky and Michigan State.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is a four-star prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the No. 152 player nationally in the 2023 On300.

In-state favorite Auburn is the current leader for Stuart’s commitment at 41.6%, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Just behind the Tigers is Ole Miss at 24.7%. Georgia Tech and Kentucky trail the Rebels at 11.1% and 9.2% respectively.

In 2022, Avery Stuart has taken unofficial visits to Kentucky, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Auburn.

Top Alabama safeties remain open

The recruiting trail remains open for Avery Stuart’s fellow Alabama safety, Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson five-star Tony Mitchell. Mitchell announced his first official visit of the cycle, and it is to a school not in his top five. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety will visit the Texas Longhorns in June.

Tony Mitchell is the No. 20 prospect nationwide according to the On3 Consensus and the No. 2 safety in his class. In-state Alabama remains the heavy favorite per the RPM.
