3-star WR Ayden Greene decommits from Cincinnati
Powell (Tenn.) three-star wide receiver Ayden Greene announced his decommitment from Cincinnati on Sunday. He was previously pledged to the Bearcats since June 5.
Greene is the No. 500 overall prospect and No. 72 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in Tennessee.
“I wanna thank the University of Cincinnati for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be apart of the bearcat family,” Greene wrote in a statement published to social media. “Thank you to (wide receivers) Coach (Mike) Brown for recruiting me and pushing me to becoming the best young man possible. With that being said I have decided to de-commit from the University of Cincinnati to explore my options. MY RECRUITMENT IS 100% OPEN.”
Greene’s decision comes amid reports that Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell is becoming the next head coach at Wisconsin. Fickell led the Bearcats to the College Football Playoff in 2021.
Following Greene’s decommitment, Cincinnati’s 2023 recruiting class now contains 18 prospects. It consists of three four-stars and 15 three-stars.
The group is led by South Bend (Ind.) St Joseph’s four-star safety Daeh McCullough, the No. 349 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. Cincinnati’s class is currently No. 29 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the AAC.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Virginia Tech now holds a close lead for Greene’s pledge at 32.9%.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
Greene has an On3 NIL Valuation of $27K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
