Former Florida State forward Baba Miller is withdrawing from the 2024 NBA Draft, he announced via Instagram. He also announced his commitment to Florida Atlantic out of the transfer portal.

Miller spent the last two seasons at Florida State to start his college career and took a solid leap from his freshman to sophomore. In 2023-24, he averaged 7.6 points and 4.7 rebounds during his 33 appearances, including 32 starts, as a sophomore.

After entering the portal, Miller became the No. 187 overall player and No. 43-ranked power forward in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. A Madrid, Spain native, he was the No. 180 overall recruit during the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Florida Atlantic has hit the portal hard since the departure of Dusty May, who left to become the next head coach at Michigan over the offseason. John Jakus is now preparing to bring in six transfers next season, including former Jacksonville State guard KyKy Tandy – the No. 156 overall player in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.

Former Louisville forward Kaleb Glenn also announced his commitment to FAU earlier this offseason. He averaged 3.9 points and 3.6 rebounds last season for the Cardinals, but will now take his talents to Boca Raton as Jakus takes over the program.

As for Florida State, the Seminoles saw plenty of roster turnover after a 17-16 overall record this past season, including a 10-10 mark in ACC play. All told, eight players entered the portal, including leading scorer Jamir Watkins. He led FSU with 15.6 points per game last season and currently ranks as the No. 6 overall player in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Florida State notably has three players coming in, though. That group includes former Hampton forward Jerry Deng, who averaged 10.1 points and 4.2 rebounds this past season before entering the portal and making his way to Tallahassee.

The 2024 NBA Draft will start next month as the league moves to a two-day setup – Round 1 on June 26 from Barclays Center and Round 2 on June 27 from ESPN’s seaport studios in New York. Wednesday was the deadline for players to withdraw and maintain their college eligibility, and Baba Miller was one of growing list of notable names to make that call.
