Baba Oladotun is trending as one of the top prospects in the 2027 class. The 6-foot-7 forward will enter ninth grade this fall at Hyattsville (MD) DeMatha Catholic. At this point in the process, entering his freshman year of high school, Oladotun has an offer from Bryant.

“I’m skilled and pretty tall for how I play,” Oladotun told On3. “I can defend all positions. Shooting, I would say, is probably my specialty. My athleticism and defense are getting better. I watch a lot of Brandon Ingram and Kevin Durant. They’re both taller guards and score it efficiently. Durant is a top-five scorer of all time.

Oladotun has been a staple at multiple elite camps throughout the country, including the 11th Annual CP3 Rising Stars Camp at the end of August.

“I want to come into these situations and show I am one of the best of the best,” Oladotun said. “Play well with my teammates and show my game.”

Oladotun’s bloodlines

Baba Oladotun’s dad Ibrahim Oladotun played at Virginia Tech from 1989-91. The 6-foot-8 forward played in 46 games over his two seasons in Blacksburg.

“My dad, Ibrahim, played at Virginia Tech,” Oladotun said.

Scouting Oladotun

You immediately notice the length and the frame with Baba Oladotun. The jump shot is what he does, and it is where his production comes from at this point. He is around 6-foot-7 with long arms. His footwork getting into the jump shot is clean, and Oladotun is confident getting into it off the bounce or the catch. He is a threat as a pull-up jump shooter, getting a high release with good balance. He will need to continue adding weight, and with that, he could become a more consistent rebounder. With his length and natural athleticism, there is an upside there on the defensive end. The tools are obvious, and the upside here is worth monitoring.
