Former Auburn quarterback Walker White will play his next college football chapter for head coach Dave Aranda at Baylor.

The Arkansas native made his decision official on Saturday.

“I’m pumped,” White told On3. “I’m really excited.”

Other programs the 6-foot-3, 225-pound White heard from included “California, App State, Ole Miss, Arizona, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech.” The On3 Industry ranks him as the No. 10 quarterback and No. 82 prospect overall available in the Transfer Portal.

“Truthfully Baylor is a place where the quarterback development is the biggest aspect for them,” White said. “I want to go in learn, develop, spend time with my coaches talking ball and I know I’m going to get that at Baylor.”

The Bears are 8-4 heading into the Texas Bowl on New Year’s Eve. White adds to a nice Transfer Portal run for Aranda and his staff this cycle.

“Coach Aranda really has his team in balance right now,” White said. “They’re playing well. They ended the season hot. They play LSU on the 31st. I liked Baylor ever since high school. Going into portal they were one of my first thoughts.”

White appeared in one game as a true freshman at Auburn, throwing for 15 yards in a November win over Louisiana-Monroe. He will arrive in Waco with all four years of eligibility remaining after preserving a redshirt.

White played high school football at Little Rock (AR) Christian Academy, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 86 overall player and No. 7-ranked quarterback from the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He threw for 2,660 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior, leading the Warriors to the Class 6A state championship game.

White capped his prep career in the All-American Bowl after throwing for 6,837 yards in his prep career and 80 touchdowns with another 30 rushing scores. He will come in and push a Baylor quarterback room that includes junior Sawyer Robertson who is having a strong season.

“He’s a great quarterback,” White said. Robertson heads into the bowl with 2,626 yards passing and 26 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. “He’s put up great numbers for them. I’m excited to go in there and compete and see where everything falls.”
