Baylor transfer safety Corey Gordon has signed with Louisville, On3 has learned. Gordon is headed to play for the Cardinals after leading the Bears with three interceptions in 2024.

Over the last two seasons, he has seven starts. Over his career, he has 64 tackles. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

During the 2023 season, Gordon played in 11 games with four starts, racking up 30 tackles, one tackle for loss, and four pass breakups. Gordon tallied three tackles, and a key pass break up when they defeated Cincinnati. He also tallied seven tackles against TCU.

Baylor finished its 2024 season 8-5 overall and 6-3 in the Big 12. The Bears faced off against LSU in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl on Tuesday. In their last game, the Bears throttled Kansas, 45-17. The Baylor offensive attack was carried this season by running back Bryson Washington. He finished with 1,004 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in the 2024 campaign.

As a freshman in 2022, Gordon saw action in two games, against Texas State and against Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl. In high school, he played at Putnam City West High School (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma). According to the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2022 cycle, Gordon was tabbed as a three-star recruit and the No. 747 overall prospect in America. He was also ranked as the No. 65 safety in the country.

Coming out of high school, he picked Baylor over offers from Tulsa, New Mexico, and Hawaii, among others. Now, we’ll see if he can find a new home across the college football landscape. Gordon is joining a Louisville program that finished the season with a 9-4 record.

Tennessee transfer LB Kalib Perry signs with Louisville

In addition to Corey Gordon, Louisville also recently landed a commitment from Tennessee transfer Kalib Perry.

Perry spent the past three seasons at Tennessee. He made 37 appearances while on Rocky Top.

In those games with the Vols, Perry posted 61 tackles and a forced fumble. That includes a career-best season this fall as a junior with 26 tackles and that turnover.

Perry, a native of Georgetown an hour and a half outside of Louisville, played high school football at Great Crossing. He was the No. 793 overall prospect there as a three-star in the 2022 cycle. He also rated as a Top-100 LB and the No. 6 player out of the state of Kentucky. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
