The BCS formula prediction for the third College Football Playoff top 25 rankings are in with a new No. 1 team in the land.

You’ll know that team, considering a certain canine mascot looking squad won two straight national titles. So with the rankings shaken up a bit, it’s time to see what the BCS can come up with this day and age.

Let’s dive into how the BCS formula would rank the College Football Playoff top 25.

1. Georgia

(Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports)

Georgia is the rightful No. 1 team in the country right? Well, that’s what the BCS formula says and that could very well be the case Tuesday night.

Carson Beck might start to get Heisman Trophy buzz with the way he’s been playing lately. The blowout win over Ole Miss was as impressive as Georgia’s been all season.

2. Michigan

(Matthew O’Haren-USA TODAY Sports)

Oh yeah, the ever controversial Michigan Wolverines won again and improved to 10-0. They controlled the tempo against Penn State and dominated on the ground.

And hey, they did it without head coach Jim Harbaugh, who is currently suspended for the remainder of the regular season. But as it stands, the BCS formula likes Michigan as the second best team in the land.

3. Ohio State

(Brooke LaValley_Columbus Dispatch _ USA TODAY NETWORK)

The Buckeyes want Michigan badly at this point. Some rankings have Ohio State above its arch rival while others have the maize and blue as the better team.

We better hope both are 11-0 going into the final weekend so it’s must-see-tv from Ann Arbor. Could they both make the playoff? Under the right circumstances yes, but this feels like it’ll be for all of the marbles.

4. Washington

(Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports)

Washington needed another close call right? The Huskies edged Utah at home to remain undefeated as well, putting them at 10-0 and in step with the others.

We can’t wait for the impending rematch with Oregon for the Pac-12 title in a few weeks and the continuation of the Michael Penix Jr. Heisman campaign. The final weeks should be good.

5. Florida State

(Alicia Devine_Tallahassee Democrat _ USA TODAY NETWORK)

It was a little closer than anticipated, but Florida State edged out Miami 27-20 to remain undefeated. That’s right, don’t forget about the 10-0 Seminoles, they’re still a contender for the national title and it feels like they aren’t getting as much love.

Jordan Travis threw for 265 yards and tossed a touchdown. Meanwhile, Trey Benson had another good one: 80 yards and two touchdowns. Make sure you keep FSU in mind when it comes to the playoff.

6. Alabama

(Jordan Prather-USA TODAY Sports)

The Crimson Tide dominated Kentucky over the weekend quarterback Jalen Milroe was responsible for six touchdowns. Maybe it’s time to give him some Heisman Trophy buzz as we hit the final stretch?

Alabama will play Georgia for the SEC title, so that could be an elimination game for the College Football Playoff. You gotta think the winner is in, as long as the winner has one loss or less.

7. Oregon

(Ben Lonergan/The Register-Guard / USA TODAY NETWORK)

Oregon is flat out dominant right now. Now, the Ducks didn’t blow out USC over the weekend, but Bo Nix looked like a superstar compared to Caleb Williams. That’s just how well Nix is playing right now.

Dan Lanning’s crew is firing on all cylinders and we don’t want to rule out that this team could be a favorite over Washington in a rematch for the pac-12 title. You probably don’t want to play Oregon right now. We wouldn’t.

8. Texas

(Ricardo B. Brazziell_American-Statesman _ USA TODAY NETWORK)

Phew, close call right here. Texas edged TCU 29-26 on the road to keep pace with other College Football Playoff teams and saw the return of Quinn Ewers.

He wasn’t great, but Ewers did throw for 317 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Jonathan Brooks added two touchdowns on the ground to go along with 104 yards. However, the star running back is out for the season with a torn ACL. Big bummer.

9. Louisville

(Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports)

Let’s not forget about Louisville, which won Thursday night over Virginia to get to 9-1 on the season. With two games left, the College Football Playoff conversation has to happen with the Cardinals.

What Jeff Brohm’s done with the program in his first year is nothing short of remarkable. The real test will be Florida State in an ACC Championship Game matchup.

10. Penn State

(Dan Rainville / USA TODAY NETWORK)

Penn State stayed in the top 10 rankings, at least by the BCS metrics. That’s despite a poor offensive showing against Michigan and another loss to one of Michigan or Ohio State.

James Franklin opted to cut ties with offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich as well. Penn State just better hope the wheels don’t fall off against Rutgers this weekend.
