It seems like the outcome of the SEC Championship Game between Texas and Georgia could carry more stakes than just a conference title and auto-bid to the College Football Playoff. A high-profile transfer could be basing his decision on the outcome.

At least, that’s what Bear Alexander seemed to intimate in a post as overtime began between the squads. Alexander, who began his career with Georgia, is back in the portal after spending a brief spell at USC. Alexander is from Texas, originally.

Both the Longhorns and Bulldogs have been involved with the transfer lineman this time around.

“Winner Takes All,” Alexander said with a winking emoji and another smiling emoji.

Alexander had previously been seen on Georgia’s campus since stepping away from the Trojans.

Alexander was one of the highest-profile redshirt situations earlier this season. Of course, the biggest was at UNLV, where Matthew Sluka announced he planned to sit out the rest of the season and enter the transfer portal amid an NIL situation.

But Alexander’s decision also generated headlines, and Lincoln Riley said he wouldn’t address it further after initially commenting ahead of the matchup against Wisconsin. In mid-Novemeber, he again told reporters he thinks USC has “said all we’ll say on this.”

“I think guys should have five years,” Riley told reporters. “Do whatever you want, play as much as you want or as little as you want, and the only way you get an extra one is if you have two season-ending injuries and miss the whole season.

“I think it should be that plain and simple and be done, and then nobody’ll have to worry about this other crap about how many games you’ve played and all that. I understand why it’s there, but I still think it’s a little bit behind the times.”

Alexander has 61 total tackles in nearly three seasons with Georgia and USC. He also has 3.5 sacks and four pass deflections.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Alexander was a four-star recruit out of Denton (Texas) IMG Academy (Fla.), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 8 overall prospect in the state of Florida, the No. 7 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 43 overall prospect in the class.
