The NCAA Tournament is finally here and the entire Field of 64 is set. That includes all of the Regional matchups, like the Corvallis Regional, as well as betting odds for who is going to make it to the Super Regional.

The Oregon State Beavers are set to host the Corvallis Regional. They’ll be welcoming three schools — UC Irvine, Tulane, and Nicholls State — to come and compete for a spot in those Super Regionals. Within that group, the Beavers are going to be the favorites to win the NCAA Regional. On top of that, with Oregon State holding a 15-seed, this Regional will be their only chance to host in Corvallis this tournament.

With the field set, the folks over at DraftKings have set the odds to win the Corvallis Regional. Initially, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Oregon State has the best odds to move onto the Super Regional. However, it’s not a guarantee at this point.

Oregon State +105
UC Irvine +190
Tulane +475
Nicholls State +1300

Oregon State is going into the NCAA Tournament with a 42-14 record on the season. That includes an incredibly impressive 24-2 home record in Corvallis this year.

Matt Hogue says margin was ‘razor-thin’ on bubble for 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament

As is often the case, there were some controversial choices regarding the NCAA Tournament and the teams on the bubble this season. That’s something that selection committee chair Matt Hogue says was a razor-thin margin.

“The margin is razor thin. I think, in my experience, this is one of the most difficult years we’ve had. A lot of groups of teams that had quality resume items,” Hogue said.

“Also, I think one thing that will be a key issue going forward is you don’t have full round robin league schedules anymore. So we really had to dig deep — who was playing the most difficult schedule in their league, how many series did you win, especially when you had a cluster of teams maybe in the same conference.”

While he didn’t get into specifics, it’s probably that Hogue was talking about the Big 12, which had UCF, TCU, and Cincinnati all on the bubble. However, only the UCF Knights ended up making it into the NCAA Tournament.
