The Field of 64 is set and the NCAA Baseball Tournament is finally here. With that have come several intriguing Regional matchups, including the Tallahassee Regional.

The Tallahassee Regional is being hosted by the Florida State Seminoles this season and looks like one of the most competitive Regionals throughout the tournament. There will be three schools from the state of Florida playing in it, with Stetson and UCF joining the Seminoles. On top of that, the Alabama Crimson Tide will be competing out of the SEC.

Ahead of the start of the NCAA Tournament, DraftKings set odds to win the Tallahassee Regional. There, the folks in Vegas expect Florida State to walk away from the Regional that they’re hosting as the winners.

Florida State -110
Alabama +190
UCF +550
Stetson +1400

Florida State earned the eighth overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. That’s very important for the Seminoles, as it means they’re going to be able to host a Super Regional if they are able to win the Tallahassee Regional.

Of course, it’s not a sure thing that Florida State will win the Tallahassee Regional. Alabama also has good odds to make it to the Super Regional and UCF or Stetson is also more than capable of making a run in the NCAA Tournament.

Matt Hogue addresses how conference realignment will impact NCAA Tournament selection process

Conference realignment is often looked at through the lens of college football. However, it is something that impacts every sport and that includes baseball and the NCAA Tournament selection process, as Matt Hogue recently explained.

“I think it’s a great point, we certainly have some sentiment on our committee that that needs to be looked at. Maybe even from a formal perspective, right? It’s out there, I mean it is something that definitely provides an additional challenge,” Hogue said.

“And then like I said, when you don’t have everybody playing each other you’re trying to figure out okay, did this team have a tougher conference schedule? Did this team have not have as tough a conference schedule? You’re trying to pick apart some of that as well, so I think you brought up a great point. That’s something that will have to be looked at going forward and my sense is that the committee members that return and the new ones will probably discuss that.”
