Big 12 announces 2021 All-Big 12 Football Awards
The Big 12 has named which players are the recipients of the 2021 All Big-12 Football Awards. The selections are made by the conferences ten head coaches, who cannot vote for their own players for the awards.
The conference honored stars, and recognized some of the most underrated players in the nation. Here’s the complete list of the Big 12 Football Awards.
- Offensive Player of the Year: Breece Hall, Iowa State, RB, Jr.
- Defensive Player of the Year: Jalen Pitre, Baylor, DB, Sr.
- Offensive Newcomer of the Year: Jaylen Warren, Oklahoma State, RB, Sr.
- Defensive Newcomer of the Year: Siaki Ika, Baylor, DL, So.
- Offensive Freshman of the Year: Xavier Worthy, Texas, WR
- Defensive Freshman of the Year: Collin Oliver, Oklahoma State, DE
- Special Teams Player of the Year: Trestan Ebner, Baylor, Sr.
- Offensive Lineman of the Year: Connor Galvin, Baylor, Sr.
- Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year: Will McDonald IV, Iowa State, Jr. and Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Kansas State, So.
- Chuck Neinas Coach of the Year: Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State
First, the conference announced Breece Hall is just the third player to earn Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors in consecutive years. Moreover, he remains only the second player in Iowa State history to win the award.
Next, Jalen Pitre took the Defensive Player of the Year award to Baylor. While he’s the third Bears defender to win the award, he’s the first defensive back to win the award since Jason Verrett won in 2013.

Finally, Mike Gundy was named the Chuck Neinas Big 12 Coach of the Year for just the second time in his career. This Saturday, his Cowboys battle for the conference championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
