Big 12 Conference announces 2022-23 Men's Basketball Award winners
The Big 12 Conference announced the winners of their 2022-23 Men’s Basketball Awards, including the player of the year. Topping the list was Kansas forward Jalen Wilson, who earned player of the year honors for his work on the court this season.
The Jayhawks took home three of the conference’s awards this year, and Kansas State took two awards. Texas and Baylor each received honors as well, with one player each receiving an award.

Newcomer of the Year — Keyontae Johnson, Kansas State,
Freshman of the Year — Keyonte George, Baylor, G
Sixth Man Award — Sir’Jabari Rice, Texas, G
Most Improved Player — KJ Adams Jr., Kansas, F
Coach of the Year — Jerome Tang, Kansas State
In addition to the big awards, the conference revealed it’s 2022-23 All-Big 12 Team selections. Iowa State and TCU both made appearances on the conference’s second team, with Oklahoma State and West Virginia earning third team honors as well.
