The best conference in college basketball this season has been the Big 12. As many as eight teams could head to the NCAA Tournament while being highly seeded as well. The regular season was brutal for all 10 teams with the round-robin, 18-game format.

Now, all focus has been turned to the Big 12 Tournament. A champion will earn automatic qualification to the dance but realistically, only two teams need the title. Everyone else is safe as far as being in the Field of 68 is concerned. Adding a trophy to the cabinet is the main goal.

The Big 12 Tournament odds have been released just days before the event is set to begin. To no surprise, Kansas is the favorite to cut down the nets once again in Kansas City after their regular season title. Texas is not too far behind in what should be as competitive of a tournament this week.

Kansas having success in the Big 12 is nothing new. Head coach Bill Self has dominated the conference throughout his tenure, continually winning regular season and tournament championships. The Jayhawks will have an excellent opportunity to win their 13th Big 12 Tournament.

The strength of Kansas this season has been playing at Allen Fieldhouse. While they might technically be away from home this week, Jayhawk fans will surely pack the nearby Sprint Center to its capacity. Any kind of win for Kansas and Rock Chalk will be sung in full force.

One of the potential sleepers heading into Kansas City is TCU. When Mike Miles has been healthy, the Horned Frogs have proven to be one of the best teams in the country at times. They will enter as the No. 6 seed and face off against Kansas State in the quarterfinals. Head coach Jamie Dixon could add to what has already been a quality season in Fort Worth.

As for the bottom of the odds, Texas Tech will be coaching without Mark Adams. He was indefinitely suspended by athletic director Kirby Holcutt after comments made to players recently. There was a slight NCAA Tournament push from the Red Raiders at the end of the season. However, they will likely need to win in order to continue a postseason run.
