Big Ten Baseball Tournament, Indiana-Purdue start time pushed back to 5 pm ET

The start of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament has been pushed back once again. First pitch for Purdue and Indiana is now set for 5 p.m. E.T., the Purdue baseball Twitter account has announced.

“Pushed back again to 5pm ET & should start as planned as the forecast is fairly clear after storms during the early afternoon window,” Purdue tweeted.

The rivalry game was originally set to begin at 11 a.m., before being pushed back to 2 p.m. However, it has now been delayed three additional hours.

Indiana enters the Big Ten Baseball Tournament as the No. 3 seed, while the rival Boilermakers are the No. 6 seed.

With Purdue and IU being delayed, the rest of the Tuesday schedule has also been impacted.

No. 2 seed Nebraska and No. 7 seed Ohio State will now begin at 9 p.m. No. 1 seed Illinois and No. 8 seed Penn State were slated to play on Tuesday. However, that game will now begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Purdue finished 33-22 (13-11) in the Big Ten during the regular season, while the Hoosiers went 30-22-1 (15-9). No. 1 seed Illinois enters the Big Ten Baseball Tournament with a 33-17 (18-6) record.
