The 2024 Big Ten Championship Game is set as the Oregon Ducks will take on Penn State in Indianapolis for the conference crown.

Oregon and Penn State will square off at Lucas Oil Stadium on December 7th at the home of the Indianapolis Colts. The Ducks managed to make the Big Ten Championship during their first year in the conference, while Penn State returns for the first time since 2016.

Going into Week 13 of the college football season, the Big Ten was a little delayed in clinching Oregon’s spot. Still, the conference went over the remaining scenarios in the 18-team league and determined the Ducks would finish No. 1 or 2. Penn State reached the title game thanks to Michigan upsetting Ohio State and the Nittany Lions blew out Maryland.

“Following a comprehensive evaluation of all possible scenarios over the final two weeks of regular-season play across the conference’s 18 teams, there are no conditions whereby the Ducks do not finish No. 1 or No. 2,” the Big Ten said in a statement. “A list of those scenarios can be found here.”

Making the move over from the Pac-12 has been seamless for Oregon. A perfect 11-0 record is even more impressive when looking at the consecutive amount of conference games they have played. Eight straight weeks, eight Big Ten foes. A tough run for any team and coming out undefeated is all the more impressive.

Opponents are averaging 13.9 points per game in conference play, while Oregon is putting up 32.9 points. Last Saturday’s game against Wisconsin was just the second time all season the Ducks did not break 30. The season opener against Idaho was the other.

Lanning is likely looking for revenge against Washington after dropping two games to the hated Huskies last season. But bigger-picture goals are alive and well for Oregon. A spot in the Big Ten Championship Game is already clinched and the College Football Playoff might unofficially be locked up too, no matter the result in Indianapolis.
