It has been a big year for BJ Davis-Ray. The No. 14 player in the 2025 On3 50 had a big summer in Nike’s EYBL Circuit, followed by a good showing at the USA Basketball Junior National Team October Training Camp. Now his Branson (MO) Link Academy is ranked top three in the country.

“I’m a three-level scorer,” Davis told On3. “But I can also guard the ball and make the players around me better. I watch a lot of Devin Booker, how he gets his shots off and creates space.”

On3 caught up with BJ Davis-Ray after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.

Davis-Ray talks recruitment

“I have offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Kansas, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, Illinois, Creighton, and Missouri,” Davis said. “I’ve only been on campus at Kansas and Arkansas so far.”

Kansas: “The tradition of the program. I mean, it is just amazing there. Rock Chalk is one of the best environments to play in.”

Arkansas: “The culture there is great. Everyone is cool with each other; it’s really family oriented. I love to guard like they do, and they play fast there. He lets his player go, which I like.”

“I mean, we’ve heard from Duke, UNC, and Stanford,” Davis said. “They haven’t offered yet.”

In Davis-Ray’s words

I mean, it’s simple, really; I want to play for a coach who is going to make me better,” Davis-Ray said. “I want to come into a team that I don’t really have to change my game. I’ll be looking closely at the system because I want it to fit my style.”
