Blaise Taylor, son of Trooper Taylor, arrested in Utah on two counts of first-degree murder
Blaise Taylor, the son of college football assistant Trooper Taylor, has been arrested in Utah on two counts of first-degree murder, per the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
“Deputy United States Marshals, at the request of the MNPD, this evening arrested Blaise A. Taylor, 27, in Utah on a Nashville grand jury indictment charging him with two counts of first-degree murder for the poisoning deaths of his girlfriend and her five-month-old fetus which Taylor is alleged to have fathered,” the media release read.
Continuing, the media release provided some vital information on the matter, explaining how everything allegedly transpired between Taylor and his girlfriend, Jade Benning.
“Jade Benning died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on March 6, 2023, her 25th birthday. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance on the night of February 25, 2023, after Taylor telephoned 911 at 9:38 p.m., said Benning appeared to be having an allergic reaction, and asked for paramedics,” the media release continued. “Benning’s medical condition immediately became critical.
“Her unborn fetus died on February 27, 2023. Benning was not able to be interviewed by police before she died.”
Additionally, the media release highlighted that Homicide Unit Detective Adam Reese led a team that included scientists from crime laboratories and doctors from the Medical Examiner’s Office through months of investigating, and they were able to land on indictment on Taylor on Wednesday.
“Months of investigation, led by Homicide Unit Detective Adam Reese and involving scientists from crime laboratories and doctors from the Medical Examiner’s Office, led to Wednesday’s return of the murder indictment against Taylor,” the media release read. “He is alleged to have poisoned Benning without her knowledge while visiting her Lebanon Pike apartment on the night of February 25.

“Taylor moved to Utah after the deaths. The MNPD will be working with Utah authorities to arrange for Taylor’s return to Nashville.”

Blaise Taylor was reportedly recently hired by Texas A&M as an analyst, according to Football Scoop, but that move has yet to be officially announced. As a player, Blaise Taylor was a defensive back for the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
Blaise Taylor’s father, Trooper Taylor, was hired by Texas A&M as an Associate Head Coach on offense and Running Backs coach earlier this offseason. He formerly was one of Mike Elko’s trusted assistants with the Duke Blue Devils.
In the past, Trooper Taylor has been a respected assistant with a myriad of programs, such as the Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, Tennessee Volunteers, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Tulane Green Wave.
