Bo Bassett’s wrestling recruiting saga is certainly drawing a lot of eyeballs. But the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2026 updated his process with his latest update Wednesday

Bassett announced he’ll take the updates to his “inner circle,” a site where he’ll promote his recruiting, matches, gear, technique and more. But as it goes, his school list got smaller.

You can see the updated graphic below.

“So recruiting has been going amazing,” Bassett said in his video. “This process has been awesome. It’s something that I’ve dreamed of and thought about since I was just starting my wrestling career and it’s been amazing. So I’m having a ton of fun with it, really enjoying the process, it’s definitely getting a lot harder. You know, as we bring that list down and you as we have to eliminate schools. So it’s been really fun. It’s been challenging and I’m really excited to keep moving forward with the process as far as that goes.”

As he pointed out in the video, Bassett will remove three schools per week, rather than seven as he’s been doing.

The following schools were removed this week: Army West Point, Campbell, Edinboro, Harvard, Illinois, North Dakota State, South Dakota State.

Bassett is also set to represent Team USA at the U20 World Championships in Spain in September following a Gold Medal at Pan Ams earlier this month. Ranked No. 1 at 144 pounds in the high school rankings, Bassett is seen as a generational prospect.

Bassett was also a 2024 Pennsylvania State Champion as a sophomore.

On a recent edition of Baschamania, Bassett opened up on what he looked forward to in the recruiting process. One thing’s for sure, he’ll take his time.

“I’m extremely excited. It’s gonna be fun,” Bassett said prior to when coaches could officially call him. “That post that I put out, I just kind of want to make the point that everyone’s in the (running) and I’m not really slotted in anywhere, I don’t prefer any other schools over anyone else and I’m really excited to be open as far as recruiting.

“I’m excited to go see where I best fit and I think that there’s a lot of different factors that I’m looking into but I think it’s just where I can  be the most successful and get the you know, the most out of it. Going to take my visits, I’m not going to commit on day one or probably within the first month to six months. I think that it’s one of those things that I’m going to take my time and really make the right decision, but you only get that decision once. And I’m a pretty loyal guy so I don’t really see myself transferring out ever. So I think wherever I go, that’s where I’m going to be for four maybe (five) years … so really excited for this process.”
