Bo Bassett recruitment: New finalists revealed to be Penn State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska

After Bo Bassett decommitted from Iowa Sunday, the star wrestling prospect is down to three schools vying for his services. Those are Penn State, Oklahoma State and Nebraska, per FloWrestling Radio Live.
Interestingly enough, Bassett did not give the Huskers an official visit during his initial recruitment. He visited Penn State and Oklahoma State and has Bishop McCort teammates currently committed to each school.
Bassett’s decommitment Sunday sent shockwaves throughout the college wrestling world. The No. 2 pound-for-pound prospect in 2026 committed to Iowa back in February following a lengthy recruiting process.
Bassett’s younger brother Melvin Miller, the No. 1 prospect in 2027, removed Iowa from consideration following the decision from Bo. They are seemingly a package deal along with youngest brother Keegan (Class of 2028).
Bo Bassett visited Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Penn State and Rutgers throughout his process this past year. Currently, his high school teammates Sam Herring (Penn State) and No. 1 overall prospect Jax Forrest (Oklahoma State) are committed.

Nebraska made waves this offseason by landing 2021 NCAA champion AJ Ferrari in the transfer portal following a 2nd place team finish at NCAAs. Bassett would fit in nicely in the middle of the Huskers lineup in 2026-27.
As far as accomplishments, Bo Bassett won his third Ironman title this winter, this time at 144 pounds and had tech falls over six straight opponents. He also won his second Pennsylvania state title this past winter.
“I think the recruiting process and going to these visits and having people come in was supposed to make it easier, like, make it more clear to me where I should be,” Bo Bassett said on FloWrestling Radio Live. “And I think really, it only made it harder. Every visit I took, really just made those programs jump in value. So I think the thing that surprised me the most is how hard it actually was, how stressful it is towards the end.
“You know, I think for me, it came down to things like, where I can be the best wrestler, the best person, where I can become the best in my faith, right, where they got a rich history, where they can produce good wrestlers, where I’m going to be valued, where there’s great atmospheres, right where I can grow myself, you know, maybe with my brand. I think there’s just so many things that go into it.”
