Following his Gold Medal at 65 KG at the U20 Pan Ams, Bo Bassett trimmed his college wrestling recruiting list Wednesday.

As he does every week, he eliminated seven schools as we get closer to his decision. Going into his junior year of high school, Bassett is the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2026, per MatScouts.

You can see his latest list below.

Weekly recruiting report: Recruiting has been going amazing,” Bassett wrote on Twitter. “Here at Fargo and in Peru, I got a chance to say hello to so many great coaches. Each week continues to get harder as the list gets smaller.”

Cal-Poly, Citadel, Columbia, Indiana, Maryland, Millersville and West Virginia were removed from Bassett’s recruiting list this week.

Bassett had a great week of wrestling on the mat, claiming Gold in Peru. He posted a pin and two technical falls en route to the title.

In the Gold Medal match, Bassett defeated Mexico’s Diego Peraza Aguilar 11-1. This isn’t the first time Bassett won Gold at Pan Ams, winning it at the U17 age division previously.

Bassett is also set to represent Team USA at the U20 World Championships in Spain in September. Ranked No. 1 at 144 pounds in the high school rankings, Bassett is seen as a generational prospect.

Bassett was also a 2024 Pennsylvania State Champion as a sophomore.

On a recent edition of Baschamania, Bassett opened up on what he looked forward to in the recruiting process. One thing’s for sure, he’ll take his time.

“I’m extremely excited. It’s gonna be fun,” Bassett said prior to when coaches could officially call him. “That post that I put out, I just kind of want to make the point that everyone’s in the (running) and I’m not really slotted in anywhere, I don’t prefer any other schools over anyone else and I’m really excited to be open as far as recruiting.

“I’m excited to go see where I best fit and I think that there’s a lot of different factors that I’m looking into but I think it’s just where I can  be the most successful and get the you know, the most out of it. Going to take my visits, I’m not going to commit on day one or probably within the first month to six months. I think that it’s one of those things that I’m going to take my time and really make the right decision, but you only get that decision once. And I’m a pretty loyal guy so I don’t really see myself transferring out ever. So I think wherever I go, that’s where I’m going to be for four maybe (five) years … so really excited for this process.”
