In just a few hours, a national champion will be crowned in Atlanta. Until the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, there is plenty of discussion to be had surrounding Notre Dame and Ohio State. Predictions have begun to roll in as well, most recently from ESPN’s Booger McFarland.

“I took a visit to Notre Dame,” McFarland began. “To see Touchdown Jesus was unreal. One of the things that I’m not proud of was I took a piece of Touchdown Jesus and I stole it. I think the statute of limitations is gone. I don’t know if the Father has ever forgiven me for that. But he’s got to forgive me for tonight because I’m going with O-H.”

A live crowd was sitting behind McFarland, finishing the chant with an emphatic “I-O.” Host Kevin Negandhi decided to roll with the Buckeyes too while Greg McElroy could not give out a prediction as he is calling the game on ESPN Radio.

Ohio State is certainly a popular pick amongst analysts out there. Oddsmakers have Ryan Day‘s team by one of the largest margins in national championship history, sitting at -8.5 per DraftKings.

Hopefully, a good one is about to unfold in Atlanta. As good as Notre Dame has been throughout the College Football Playoff, the firepower from Ohio State might just be too much to overcome in McFarland’s opinion.

Booger McFarland weighs Ryan Day’s future if Ohio State were to lose

If Ohio State was to lose Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, McFarland wondered how much longer Day would be at Ohio State. He specifically pointed out the mounting pressure if he loses another title game, mainly after the four consecutive losses to Michigan.

“I think that may weigh on him a lot where he might decide, you know what? Maybe this is too much,” McFarland said. “Because there’s a lot of pressure. These people put a lot of pressure on the head coach of Ohio State. And at some point, it starts to weigh on you. Most importantly, Greg, it starts to weigh on your family. I just wonder, how much pressure they would put on him if he lost the game tonight.”
