Boston College will not have starting offensive lineman Logan Taylor or transfer defensive back Cam Martinez during its Week 1 matchup against Florida State on Monday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports.

Taylor was an All-ACC honorable mention at left tackle for the Eagles after transferring from Virginia last season, but was slated to play guard for the Eagles. Martinez, a veteran transfer from Ohio State, plays safety.

Kickoff between the Eagles and Seminoles is schedueld for 7:30 p.m. ET live on ESPN.

However, it should be noted that DirecTV subscribers may not be able to watch the broadcast, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Due to an ongoing dispute with Disney and DirecTV, it left 11 million of their subscribers without access to channels such as ESPN and ABC.

Still, Florida State more than a two-touchdown betting favorite in Vegas heading into the home opener in Tallahassee. This comes after the Seminoles’ season-opening loss to Georgia Tech in Dublin during Week 0. However, they’ll look to bounce back in a big way against yet another ACC foe in Boston College on Monday under the lights in Doak Campbell Stadium.

There are four players in total in total for head coach Mike Norvell heading into the game. Wide receiver Hykeem Williams and right tackle Jeremiah Byers are the biggest two. Neither will see action against Boston College in the team’s second game of the season.

Williams did not play in the season opener against Georgia Tech, missing out due to the same injury. Earlier in the week, Norvell was “hopeful” Williams would be able to play. But it has not worked out and Florida State will be down a wide receiver.

Byers is a new issue though, starting across the pond while protecting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. He has been a staple in the program throughout the past two years, starting in every game during the 2023 season and in the Week 0 matchup as well.
