Brady Cook injury update: Missouri vs. Mississippi State Wednesday report reveals QB status
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are preparing to face off against the Missouri Tigers this weekend. The Bulldogs are trying to kick the tires on the talent they have for the 2025 campaign. They got their first win over an FBS team a few weeks ago against UMass. And now they’ll wrap up their season with Missouri and the Egg Bowl rivalry with the Ole Miss Rebels.
The game will be played in Starkville, Mississippi (Davis Wade Stadium). Missouri only scored six first half points against South Carolina and 12 in the first three quarters last week against the Gamecocks. Missouri has been carried this season by receiver Theo Wease, who’s hauled in 47 catches for 637 yards and three touchdowns. Luther Burden III has 53 catches for 574 yards and five touchdowns.
Here is the Wednesday injury report ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between Missouri and Mississippi State.

The good news for Missouri is quarterback Brady Cook looks like he’s likely to return with the probable tag. This season, he’s completed 63.5% of his passes for 1,812 passing yards, while tossing in eight touchdowns and two interceptions. As a runner, he has 54 carries for 90 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Mississippi State has been decimated with a number of injuries for much of the 2024 campaign, including quarterback Blake Shapen. He was injured in their 45-28 loss to Florida. Shapen injured his shoulder and was forced to miss the entire 2024 campaign. Freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren, Jr. has gotten thrown into the fire as a result, but hasn’t played too bad. He’s completed 54.6% of his passes for 1,415 passing yards, while tossing in nine touchdowns with five interceptions.
