Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is viewed as doubtful for Saturday’s game against Oklahoma, multiple sources tell On3. The Tigers are coming off the bye week but the senior quarterback is still working through an ankle and hand injury. He’s been listed as questionable on the SEC injury report this week.

Cook hurt his ankle on the opening series against Auburn but returned. And two weeks ago against Alabama, he injured his hand. Cook finished with 30 yards passing in less than two quarters of play against the Crimson Tide. He entered the Alabama game completing 63.1% of his passes for 1,545 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception on the season.

Cook has started 35 consecutive games for Missouri. If he can’t play Saturday against Oklahoma, Missouri will turn to Drew Pyne, who previously played at Notre Dame and Arizona State. He played the majority of the Alabama game, finishing 6 of 12 for 42 yards and three interceptions.

Pyne has played in five games this season for the Tigers, throwing for 248 yards with a 63.6 completion percentage.

“Hopefully, it was a learning opportunity,” Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz said earlier this week about Pyne. “We put him in some bad situations. We’ve got to protect better. We’ve got to establish the run better, and we can’t turn the ball over.”

Cook has also rushed for four touchdowns and helped Missouri finish 11-2 with a win in the Cotton Bowl in 2023. Oklahoma travels to Missouri for a 7:45 p.m. kickoff on Saturday night on the SEC Network. The Sooners are currently a 1.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel.

“He’s got great juice and just, he’s fearless,” Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables said about Cook. “I don’t know his entire background, but he’s a winner. I think he brings out the best in the players around him. … You can see the guts and the toughness.”
