Brandon Finney, top-100 Oregon commit, makes surprise visit to Michigan
One of the most coveted defensive backs in the 2025 class is in Ann Arbor, Michigan today to see the Wolverines take on Texas.
Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School four-star cornerback Brandon Finney — an Oregon commit — showed up at the Big House on Saturday for an unofficial visit.
Finney has been committed to the Ducks since June 25. He never took an official visit to Michigan — instead taking OVs to Penn State, South Carolina, Ohio State and Oregon – but the Wolverines appear to be continuing to battle for his commitment.
Michigan had only offered Finney in late spring, but he was excited about the offer nonetheless.
“It was great to get that offer,” Finney said. “I know a lot about the school. I love Michigan. Coach Bellamy stopped by, and he was cool. He asked me if I was interested, and I said ‘of course.’ It was a great feeling.”

Finney mentioned in June that he was looking to get out to Ann Arbor.
“I would love to go out there,” Finney said. “I want to see the workouts and things like. But really, building relationships with the coaches is the main thing for. I just want to get to know them more and meet them in person.”
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Finney is the nation’s No. 89 overall prospect, No. 9 cornerback and No. 2 recruit from Maryland in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 is especially high on Finney, rating him higher than any of the other major recruiting services. He ranks No. 70 nationally and No. 1 in Maryland in the 2025 On300.
