Brenen Thompson

One of the nation’s fastest prospects will come off the board on Wednesday. Brenen Thompson, No. 40 in the On300, will announce his decision between Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday.

The small town speedster out of Spearman (Texas) took an official visit to Texas on Sept. 18. Thompson and family watched the Longhorns beat Rice 58-0 with freshman wide receiver Xavier Worthy putting together a career-best performance.

Thompson made June official visits to Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Oregon. He also made unofficial visits to Texas A&M in March and July, Texas in June and Oklahoma State the first weekend in September.

Brenen Thompson is a 2-sport star

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound two-sport star posted a best 100-meter time of 10.38 as a junior. Brenen Thompson won the Class 3A state title in the 200 meters with a time of 21.27 seconds fully automatic timed. Thompson took home the silver medal in the 100 meters at the state meet with a 10.40 FAT. He plans to compete in football and track at the next level.

Thompson posted the times despite not being fully healthy as a junior. He underwent surgery to remove a bone spur two weeks ago cutting short his senior football season. He’s expected to be back to full speed for track season.
