Brennan Marion is dressed for success. Ahead of UNLV‘s showdown against Kansas on Friday, the Rebels offensive coordinator donned a custom “Go-Go” chain, referring to his acclaimed Go-Go offense.

Marion introduced UNLV to his patented offense in 2023 when he was named the program’s offensive coordinator. Under Marion, the Rebels recorded a school-record six games scoring 40+ points and scored at least 24 points in a school-record 10 straight games and a record 12 overall.

For his efforts, Marion was named the Mountain West Wire Coordinator of the Year and a nominee for the prestigious Broyles Award, which is an annual award given to the best assistant coach in college football.

During the offseason, Marion raved about his position with UNLV.

“I’m not interested in going somewhere where I have to change or be different than what got me to this point,” Marion said. “For me, being out here in this coaching search or being the hot name, there’s a lot of things that people bring to your attention. But for me, I’m just not interested in going somewhere where I don’t get the same level of autonomy that Coach Odom gives me.

“This year is the year,” Marion said. “We’ve got to go get it, go make it happen. And then at the end of the year, you look at what pops up after you do all the things that you take care of each day… I think we have something good here right now. It’s time to lock in and get this done.”

With Brennan Marion calling the plays, UNLV is off to a hot start again this season, with two wins under its belt. The Rebels averaged 49.5 points per game in the first two games of the season. Now, they will look to use their momentum to take down Kansas.

Kansas is far from impermeable. The Jayhawks fell 23-17 to Illinois last week. In the loss, Kansas allowed Illinois’ offense to notch 271 total yards while only committing one turnover. For reference, UNLV is averaging 501.5 yards per game, ranking No. 22 in the country.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see the Rebels and Jayhawks square off. The two highly-touted programs will go head-to-head at 7 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ESPN.
