Kingston (Ga.) Cass three-star quarterback Brodie McWhorter previously set a May 15 commitment date, but he’s now moving his decision up two weeks.

The signal-caller announced on Monday evening that he will now announce his commitment this Thursday, May 1. He’s also shortened his list of finalists down to three and will choose between Colorado, Indiana and Mississippi State.

The process has continued to speed up for McWhorter. The former West Virginia commit announced a top seven in February and told On3 that he was eyeing a late-July to early-August decision. He then set a May commitment date and has now moved things up again.

Auburn, Syracuse, Wisconsin and WVU did not make McWhorter’s final cut. He’s gotten out to each of his top three for spring trips and has continued to get his questions answered. He’s now set to come off the board later this week.

“The three most important things I look for when deciding on a school are relationships with the staff, development, and schematic fit,” McWhorter previously told On3’s Chad Simmons.

McWhorter is the No. 670 overall prospect and No. 41 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 71 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-1 gunslinger had his junior campaign at Cass cut short due to a lower leg injury. The Colonels finished with six wins and were the No. 104 team in Georgia, according to the On3 Composite Rankings. McWhorter will be poised to rebound in 2025 — and his college recruitment now won’t be at the forefront this fall.

McWhorter’s commitment is set for 12:30 p.m. ET and will take place at the Cass High School theatre. The SEC, Big 12 and Big Ten remain in contention for the Peach State QB.
