Top 150 F Brody Kozlowski recruitment is heating up; talks visits
Brody Kozlowski is the No. 110 player in the 2024 On3 150. The 6-foot-7 forward finished with 11 points and 19 rebounds in his National Hoopfest game last week.
“I’m a multi-level scorer,” Kozlowski told On3. “I can go outside and shoot really well, and if a big comes out to me, I can drive off that and get some easy points. If it’s a little guy guarding me, I can go to the post and create for the team. I watch a lot of Lauri Markkanen and Kelly Olynyk; I think they play similarly to me. They’re hustlers, and they can shoot it from the outside or get boards.”
Kozlowski was one of the top rebounders on the Adidas 3SSB 16u Circuit this summer. On3 caught up with Brody Kozlowski after a game recently to talk about his recruitment and upcoming visits.
“I’ve taken unofficial visits Loyola-Chicago, Utah State, and BYU,” Kozlowski said. “I’m hearing a lot from Washington State, too. I haven’t set any official visits yet; we’ll probably try and start taking some of those in December.”
Kozlowski talks recruitment
Loyola-Chicago: “They’re young and have a young coaching staff; they’re very relatable. I like how hard they practice; that is really cool. I think that style of play is what wins games and championships. They play in transition and run the floor, which fits how I play.”
Utah State: “They run the floor, and they share the ball a lot. Their assist rate is really high, and I feel that team ball is my main thing. I try to play that way, and that’s a system I want to play in.”
Washington State: “They contact me a lot and are trying to get me to get up there for a visit. I like the coaches and our conversations, so I’m going to try and get up there soon.”

BYU: “They haven’t offered me yet, but they’re recruiting me really hard right now. They’re a really good school. I’ve had family that went there, and it’s a great school. I love their coaches and how they play, they shoot a lot of threes; they’re a really good team and going to the Big 12 now.”
“Oregon State and Wake Forest are schools that haven’t offered yet, but they’re recruiting me pretty hard,” Kozlowski said.
In Kozlowski’s words
“Relationship is big with me,” Kozlowski said. “I’ll look at how the coaches interact and how the players interact, and how they develop relationships with me. Having that bond and chemistry as a team is a really big thing for me.
“I want to try and come in and play as a freshman, at least get good minutes off the bench and be able to contribute as much as I can.
“My dad played football at BYU, and my mom played basketball there.”
Scouting report
It’s the toughness that’s the takeaway with Brody Kozlowski. He is a 6-foot-7 forward and an excellent rebounder. Kozlowski has that ‘want to’ on the boards to go get the ball. Offensively, Kozlowski is skilled. He can knock down catch and shoot threes, a solid pick-and-pop threat. He can attack closeouts in straight lines and has some touch over his left shoulder on the block. The lateral athleticism is a question on the defensive end. Kozlowski is strong and has good length. He can also push the break, in the open floor, off the rebound. Kozlowski is a tweener with his size and position. There is a production factor with him. Kozlowski’s mom played basketball at BYU.
