Bryce Lindsay was originally in the class of 2022. The 6-foot-2 guard was committed to South Carolina and, then, head coach Frank Martin. When Martin was let go in March, Lindsay opened his recruitment back up and decided that he would take a prep year.

Lindsay enrolled for this season at Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy. Lindsay played last summer with Team Melo on Nike’s EYBL Circuit. The noted sharp-shooter was the team’s second leading scorer averaging 8.9 points and knocking down 1.7 threes per game.

Lindsay’s recruitment

Bryce Lindsay told On3 that he is visiting Texas A&M this weekend, Thursday through Saturday, and that will be his last official visit. Lindsay also noted that he will be signing during the early signing period. The early signing period starts November 9 and lasts through November 16.

As noted above, Lindsay committed to South Carolina in January and subsequently de-committed once Frank Martin was let go. The new staff did not re-recruit him. Prior to his commitment to South Carolina, Lindsay took official visits to the Gamecocks, Oklahoma State, and Pittsburgh.

Lindsay has taken one senior year official visit to West Virginia. This weekend’s Texas A&M visit will be his second. With the early signing period starting next Wednesday, expect Lindsay’s official commitment to come shortly after the conclusion of this weekend’s visit.

Scouting report

Bryce Lindsay is a dead-eye shooter. He has deep range with a confident stroke. His form does not change, no matter the range. He shoots with great balance and a consistent release, no matter where he is on the floor. The hope is that he becomes a combo guard or more of a scoring lead guard. He will need to become more dynamic off the bounce and tighten the handle some. He has long arms and is an average athlete. While he gives good effort as a team defender, there are some concerns on that end of the floor. Defenses will always have to account for Lindsay’s shooting, and the spacing he provides helps to open things up for an offense.
