Indiana true freshman forward Bryson Tucker plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after one season with the Hoosiers, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

The 6-foot-7, 200-pounder averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest while playing a little over 16 minutes per game during his lone year with Indiana. He came to Bloomington as one of the country’s most sought-after recruits in the Class of 2024.

Tucker was ranked as a five-star prospect by multiple recruiting services and finished as the No. 20 recruit nationally in the class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

His freshman season didn’t live up to the lofty expectations many had put on him, though. After scoring in double-figures in two of his first four collegiate games, he only hit that mark once the rest of the season. He also saw his playing time decrease as the Hoosiers struggled in Big Ten play. The mounting losses ultimately led to the team deciding to part ways with head coach Mike Woodson at the end of his fourth season with the program.

Tucker signed with the Hoosiers over dozens of high-major offers that included Kansas, Michigan State, Duke, LSU and others. A Bowie (Md.) native, he is expected to be among the most wanted underclassman transfers in the country.
