HBO has released details and the trailer for its series on Bishop Sycamore High School, which is coming to Max later this month. “BS High” will debut on Aug. 23, HBO has announced.

Here is a look at the trailer for the series, which features interviews with Bishop Sycamore head coach Roy Johnson:

If you are unfamiliar with the series or don’t remember what happened, Bishop Sycamore played the powerhouse program IMG Academy on Aug. 29, 2021.

Johnson and Bishop Sycamore told ESPN going into the game that their team had multiple Division I prospects. However, the team ended up being severely overmatched and lost 58-0.

Following the game, an investigation was launched into the coaches and players at the Columbus based prep school. Multiple reports about the program, spearheaded by an investigative piece from USA Today, led the nation’s top prep schools to remove Bishop Sycamore from the schedule.

Later, news broke that the program had multiple players in their 20s on the team.

The trailer for the series also teases that players from the team have been interviewed and will appear on the series.

In the trailer, it reveals that the players did not have teachers, there were no trainers and players were forced to share helmets at times.

Ohio Department of Education released findings in Bishop Sycamore scandal

In December of 2021, a high-profile investigation into the saga of Bishop Sycamore High School was finished by the Ohio Department of Education, per Tom Schad of USA TODAY Sports. The findings include the following, abundantly clear statement: “Bishop Sycamore is not a school as it purports on paper to be.”

The 41-page document questioned and could not confirm if teachers at the school meet Ohio requirements, whether it is open the proper amount of hours to be a legitimate school, and if the required courses are offered. Additionally, the report recommends working with the office of the attorney general “regarding a potential legal action” against the nonexistent Ohio school. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine added on, asking the AG’s office to look into the “numerous disturbing allegations.”

In addition to ESPN, Bishop Sycamore told other potential opponents at the time that it had numerous top prospects.

“Bishop Sycamore told us they had a number of Division I prospects on their roster, and to be frank, a lot of that, we could not verify,” Anish Shroff said during the ESPN broadcast. “They did not show up in our database, they did not show up in the databases of other recruiting services. So, OK, that’s what you’re telling us, fine, that’s how we take it in. From what we’ve seen so far, this is not a fair fight. And there’s got to be a point where you’re worried about health and safety.”
