Bush Hamdan addresses Boise State coaching staff's future
The Boise State Broncos have entered a period of uncertainty recently, after they dismissed head football coach Andy Avalos on Nov. 12th. Avalos went 22-14 in two-plus seasons at the helm, and now the team is currently searching for a replacement.
On the Thursday evening edition of the Andy Staples Show, Broncos offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan addressed the coaching staff’s future.
Boise State coaching staff faces uncertain future
Does he feel like he, interim HC Spencer Danielson, and the rest of the staff are putting their resume out there on Saturday in the Mountain West Conference Championship?
“Yeah, you never know. I just think the landscape of college football has certainly changed so much. The coaches are important, but the players are really important. When I made that comment, I just think about certainly a large group of these players that love Boise that can impact players for many years to come,” Hamdan said.
“You know, it’s important for those guys to stay here. It really is. It’s a tremendous place and again, I think it goes back to what you said. Just focusing on the now. We really want no regrets. Doesn’t matter where we’re at four weeks from now. We hope it’s in Boise. If it’s not, we hope to land on our feet somewhere. But this is an opportunity to, like you said, go win a conference championship, which hasn’t been done since 2019. And regardless of what happens I think we can look ourselves in the mirror and be proud of that,” Hamdan said on Thursday evening.
Since Boise State fired Andy Avalos, the remaining coaches on staff, including Hamdan, have helped the Broncos rattle off two straight victories. They’ve defeated Utah State 45-10 and Air Force 27-19.
