BYU lands commitment from 2022 WR Cody Hagen
Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon wide receiver Cody Hagen committed to BYU on Thursday, announcing the news on his Twitter page.
Hagen chose the Cougars over Stanford, USC and Utah.
The 6-foot-1 receiver is one of the best players in Utah who plays on the No. 1 team in the state. He is a dynamic receiver who broke out as a junior playing with now-Trojans quarterback Jaxson Dart and has continued his elite play as a high school senior.
He is also a track star in the state, having run the 100 meters in 10.52 seconds.
Cody Hagen is a playmaker
Cody Hagen has been a top wide receiver since his sophomore year at Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon.
With his brother and current Yale quarterback Cole Hagen leading the offense in 2019, Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon went undefeated and won the state championship. Cody Hagen had 57 receptions for 939 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He was even better with Dart as his quarterback last year, grabbing 55 passes for 1183 yards and 18 touchdowns. Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon finished the season undefeated once again.
Somehow, Cody Hagen has reached another level this season. Through just seven games, he already has 44 receptions for 906 yards and eight touchdowns.

This is the biggest recruiting win of the cycle for BYU
Cody Hagen immediately becomes the best recruit in the class for the Cougars. He has the potential to start from his first day on campus and be a leader when the team makes the move to the Big 12.
But there were no guarantees he would end up in BYU.
Stanford was considered a favorite for most of his recruitment. The Trojans offered an opportunity to reunite with the 2020 Gatorade National Player of the Year in Dart. And Cody’s dad Sean had a scholarship to play both baseball and football at Utah in the 1990s before electing to go pro in baseball.
Hagen is the 16th commit in the class for the Cougars. He is the second player from Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon to commit to BYU along with linebacker Micah Wilson, who is the brother of former Cougars quarterback and No. 2 pick in this past year’s NFL Draft Zach Wilson.
