BYU QB Jaren Hall’s ‘dad uniform’ NIL commercial is here and it’s perfect
BYU Cougar star Jaren Hall is one of the nation’s best dual-threat quarterbacks, and he is quickly rising on many experts’ NFL draft boards. So, it’s only fitting that his scrambling ability was put to the test in his latest NIL deal.
Hall announced Thursday on Instagram that he’s reached a NIL agreement with &Collar, a menswear company based in South Salt Lake, Utah. The terms of the NIL deal were not released.
As part of the arrangement, Hall is featured in a commercial that asks, “How well can a quarterback play in a white shirt and tie?” In the commercial, Hall ditches a BYU-style blue jersey and is transported to the “&Collar Training Course” where he’s seen wearing a white shirt and yellow tie.
Jaren Hall is then put through five back-to-back challenges to test the quality and stain resistance of &Collar clothes.
The five challenges:
- The Untuckable Mannequin Pass
- The Unstainable Baby Crawl
- The Unbreakable Stretch Armstrong
- The Terrible Homerun Twister
- The Unsoakable Cooler Pour
Jaren Hall breezes through each of the challenges – because, of course, he’s wearing a &Collar shirt.

The commercial is the perfect amount of comedy and brand awareness that rivals Decoldest Crawford’s viral air conditioning commercial as one of the best use of NIL so far.
“I survived the &Collar Training Course, and I am proud to wear the uniform of dads everywhere,” said Hall, who is the proud father of Jayda Mae Hall. “These shirts have been a lifesaver being stain resistant to everything! Even baby food!”
Jaren Hall has long list of NIL deals
This is hardly the first NIL deal that Jaren Hall has executed. Growing up in the Salt Lake City area, he’s a hometown hero for BYU. That’s helped local brands gravitate toward him. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s a heck of a player.
Last week against South Florida, Hall was 25 of 32 for 261 yards and two touchdowns. The Cougars have a massive matchup Saturday against nationally ranked Baylor. Hall has other NIL agreements with companies like Desert First Credit Union, Elevate Chiropractic and Wellness, Utah Warriors Rugby and Default Happiness.
