2026 EDGE Jonathan McKinley commits to in-state Cal
Corona (Calif.) Centennial three-star EDGE Jonathan McKinley has committed to Cal, he announced on Tuesday evening.
He chose the Bears while also holding offers from the likes of SMU, Utah, Arizona and Boise State.
“Had an amazing visit at Cal this weekend. After deep consideration and thoughts with my family, I’m blessed and honored to say that I’m committed,” McKinely wrote on X, announcing his decision.
McKinley is the No. 658 overall prospect and No. 54 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 70 player in California.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is the second commitment in the mix for head coach Justin Wilcox and Co. in the 2026 cycle. Corona (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic three-star wide cornerback Jayden Crowder pledged to the Bears in November.
Playing for one of the top programs in the nation, McKinley was a member of the 2024 Centennial team that finished with a 9-3 record. The Huskies finished the season as the No. 20 team in the nation and No. 4 team in California, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
