California star running back Jaydn Ott announced his return to the Golden Bears early Sunday morning via his Twitter page. He’ll be back for the 2025 campaign and that’s great news for Bears fans. According to Jordan Reid of ESPN, He primarily received Day 2 grades coming into the year after rushing for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. His 1,000-yard rushing season was the 19th in program history.

And to make his announcement of coming back, he used a clip from one of the greatest movies of all-time, “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Leonardo DiCaprio delivers his famous, ‘I’m not f****king leaving,’ speech as only DiCaprio can. There’s a reason everything DiCaprio touches turns to cinematic gold. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it. And very few have risen to the occasion time and time again on the big screen quite like he has over the years.

Here’s the classic line from the movie here.

This year, he had 116 carries for 385 yards and four touchdowns. Ott averaged 3.3 yards per carry. As a receiver, he reeled in 24 catches for 222 yards and a touchdown. In the 2022 season, he had 170 carries for 897 yards and eight touchdowns. As a receiver, he hauled in 46 catches for 321 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Ott was listed by On3 on May 16th as one of the top 100 players in college football heading into the 2024 campaign and the No. 6 ranked running back on that list. He finished with a season-high of 78 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries against Syracuse. His longest rush of the season was in that game, a 53-yarder.

As a freshman, Ott led all Pac-12 freshmen and ranked among the nation’s top freshmen in all-purpose yardage. He had three games of multiple overall touchdowns and a pair of games with two or more rushing touchdowns (three rushing vs. Arizona, one rushing, one receiving vs. UNLV, and two rushing at USC).

Tabbed as a four-star prospect in the 2022 cycle, Ott was ranked as the No. 322 overall player in America, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He enjoyed a highly decorated high school career that began at famed Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas, Nevada), before moving onto Norco (Norco, California) in 2022. Once he hung up his cleats for his high school career, Ott racked up 2,480 all-purpose yards and 31 total touchdowns.
