Atlanta Holy Innocents Episcopal Five-Star Plus+ power forward Caleb Wilson has committed to North Carolina, he announced on Thursday night.

The 6-foot-9, 195-pounder chose the Tar Heels over Kentucky.

Wilson is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 3 PF in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top hoops prospect in Georgia.

It’s another giant recruiting victory for head coach Hubert Davis and the UNC staff. After taking an official visit nearly a year ago last February, Wilson returned to Chapel Hill in October. Kentucky had the momentum for much of Wilson’s recruitment, but the five-star opted for a lighter shade of blue on Thursday.

Wilson is the third member of North Carolina’s 2025 recruiting class. He joins Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga four-star combo guard signee Derek Dixon and Davidson (N.C.) North four-star point guard signee Isaiah Denis.

Wilson has signed with Klutch Sports Management and is part of their Klutch Athletics x New Balance roster. He broke down his interest in UNC earlier this month with On3’s Jamie Shaw:

Elliot (Cadeau) is a very good guard, I feel like he might be there next year. I want to feel needed in whichever school I go to, and I feel like they’ll need me next year. Although we play different positions, I feel like it’s important that Coach (Hubert) Davis shows confidence in Ian (Jackson) and Drake (Powell), his freshmen. I feel like that is not always common when you have elite freshmen to believe in them and trust them in the moment. That’s very attractive,” Wilson said.

“Coach Hubert believes in his players. You know, they don’t have the best record this year, although they went to the national championship a couple years ago, you expected them to be a little down this year, losing Armando (Bacot). You’re trying to adapt to a new style of play without a dominant big. I think this is good for them, and learning how to coach a team with speed and a new style could be beneficial to me also.”

Caleb Wilson Scouting Summary

Shaw writes this of Wilson as a prospect:

“Caleb Wilson has a great frame, good length and natural pop. He plays really well in a phone booth, efficient movements in tight spaces, shows the footwork to shake free with the ball in the half court. He needs to continue getting stronger, which will help his base and balance. He is explosive around the basket, has go-to comfort over his left shoulder with patience. He can push the break and plays with pace. He has a vast array of offensive moves, at multiple levels. He is still learning his body and still gaining strength, this will only help his consistency. Tracking as one of the top players in his class.”
