Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei three-star linebacker Eoghan Kerry announced his decommitment from Texas on Saturday.

“After discussion with my coaches at Mater Dei and my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Texas,” Kerry said. “My recruitment is 100% open.”

Kerry is the No. 656 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Texas was No. 10 team in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking before Kerry decommitted and stayed there.

Kerry’s decommitment leaves the Longhorns with just one linebacker commit in Arlington (Texas) Martin four-star Trevell Johnson.

There are three other four EDGE rushers in the group in Texarkana (Texas) Texas High four-star Derrick Brown, Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville, AL) four-star Justice Finkley, Brophy College Preparatory (Phoenix, AZ) three-star Zac Swanson and Donaldsonville (La.) Ascension Catholic four-star J’mond Tapp.

Eoghan Kerry is the second decommitment in the last three days for the Longhorns.

Tyler (Texas) Legacy four-star running back Jamarion Miller flipped from Texas to Alabama on Thanksgiving.
