Utah quarterback Cam Rising will be good to go Saturday against Oklahoma State, according to Utes receiver Dorian Singer. Local beat reporter Josh Furlong posted via X that Singer told the media on Monday that Rising will be available after missing this past week due to a hand injury.

Rising suffered the injury in a Week 2 contest against Baylor after he ran into a water cooler. His return will be a major boost for Utah ahead of the top 15 matchup with the Cowboys.

Rising dressed out and warmed up for last week’s game against Utah State, so presumably he could have played if need be. The extra week to recover will likely ensure the QB is back in full form on Saturday.

The Utes started Issaac Wilson in place of Rising as they won 38-21 in Week 3. He threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns to one interception and will move back to the backup role against OSU.

Rising is in his sixth season of college football after sitting out all of last year due to an ACL injury. He led Utah to back-to-back Pac-12 Championships in 2021 and 2022 while throwing for a combined 5,527 yards, 46 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

The QB looked like his old self in Week 1 as he tossed for five touchdowns to lead the Utes to a 49-0 victory against Southern Utah. He is a big reason why Utah was picked to win the Big 12 this season, its first as a member of the conference.

Getting through Oklahoma State will be key to doing so, as the Cowboys finished runner up in the conference in 2023. This will be just the second meeting all-time between the two teams and the first since 1945.

With Cam Rising now confirmed to be healthy, it should be a close game. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in Stillwater.
