Cam Scott did not disappoint
Alabama head coach Nate Oats and South Carolina’s Lamont Paris were both in tow, along with an assistant coach for Oregon, and Scott went for over twenty-plus in both games. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Lexington (SC) High is fresh off an MVP performance at the Pangos All-American Camp and a stint at USA Basketball u19 Training Camp has had a good April.
Scott is a prototypical wing. He has great length with positional size. He is very explosive in transition, filling the lanes and getting on the rim in traffic. In the half court, Scott was a good off-ball cutter. He would flash to space with great balance and footwork. The jump shot was streaky in the first game and really good in the second. That will be his swing skill deciding what level he takes his game to.
Already ranked in the top-20 of the 2024 On3 150, Scott has all the tools. When he played at USA Basketball Training Camp and at Pangos All-American, he took on an alpha role. When he plays with his high school team, he can defer at times. Cam Scott has taken official visits to South Carolina, Texas, Auburn, and Oregon.
Kaleb Evans makes presence felt
Lexington (NC) High is far from a one-man show, while four-star Cam Scott brought the head coaches, the schools also took note of 2025 guard Kaleb Evans. Evans is a 6-foot-3 combo guard, his natural instinct is to score the ball, and he does that very well. This season, for Lexington High, he is transitioning to be a point guard.
Evans made numerous plays in the paint. He has goodpositional size with a great change of pace, touching the paint often. When he was in the paint, he was able to make correct reads, distributing the ball appropriately or finishing with a flaoter or at the rim. The decision making will need to continue to tighten as he keeps getting game reps. Evans picked up his first offer, from Winthrop on June 15. Clemson, Boston College, and South Carolina were also in contact.

Hayden Assemian intrigues
Hayden Assemian is an archetype of player that has seen a good bit of success in recent basketball. A 6-foot-6 post player, who is explosive and naturally strong. Let’s start with the frame. The Powdersville (SC) High forward has long arms, big hands, and a strong base. He plays with force and explosion around the rim, especially when he gets in the dunker spot or rolls toward the basket.
You see the upside of what you want him to be. The ferocious rebounder and swithcable defender. And there are flashes of that. Assemian played last season at Greenville (SC) Legacy Early College – on the NIBC – and then this summer with Team CP3 16u. He is on a clear upward trajectory. George Mason is among the early offers, South Carolina, Clemson, and Boston College were among the schools watching.
Jordan Watford brings back memories
The productivity of Jordan Watford was interesting. The Lancaster (SC) High wing was around 6-foot-4, and simply knew what he could do and went to work. He was at his best playing from 15 feet and in. He caught the ball and immediately became a threat to dribble, shoot, or distribute. There were a lot of similarities with former Auburn and Western Kentucky forward Desean Murray at a similar stage.
Watford is a double-double machine at this level. He is capable of guarding up and down a lineup and simply makes winning plays on both ends of the floor. Mississippi State is his first offer, it will be interesting to see how his recruitment continues to trend.
