Cam Whitmore, a 6-foot-6 small forward out of Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding has committed to Villanova basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Whitmore is the Wildcats’ third commitment of the 2022 class, following four-star combo guard Mark Armstrong and four-star shooting guard Brendan Hausen. Villanova has now landed three top-60 prospects.

Fun Fact: Villanova only offered three prospects (Whitmore, Armstrong, Hausen) in the 2022 class and landed each one, giving them a 100% success rate.

Scouting Report on Whitmore

On3’s Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton had this to say about Cam Whitemore:

“Whitmore is a very athletic two foot jumper with a strong frame. He is a strong finisher above the rim with the ability to be devastating from the weak side on lobs and offensive rebounding. Plays very strong and tough with the ball. Can take hits, maintain body control and finish. Active ball chaser offensively. His perimeter game is developing. Best on catch and shoot, or one hard dribble from three. Doesn’t have to have the ball in hand to positively impact the game on the offensive end. That explosive ability makes him a shot changer/blocker from the wing. Can make plays defensively from the weak side.”
