Four-star Florida cornerback Camron Miller picks Penn State over Virginia Tech
New Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian corner Camron Miller joined the committed ranks of the 2022 class this week. He pledged his talent to the Penn State Nittany Lions, giving them a third commitment in the secondary.
Miller, who made the move recently to Trinity Christian, picked Penn State over offers from Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Miami and a dozen other D-I programs around the country.
“I really like what Coach (James) Franklin is doing, and I feel like we can make history at Penn State,” Miller told On3. “It was a really hard decision, there are a lot of great programs out there, but that’s the place for me.”
After a year of the dead period, the four-star Floridian took visits to Virginia Tech, South Carolina and UCF, but it was two visits to Happy Valley that sealed the deal for Penn State.
“It’s definitely different,” Miller said. “It’s a college town. The stadium is huge, so I’m excited. I’m trying to be on campus for the White Out game when they play Auburn.”
Miller is currently the No. 30 corner prospect in the nation and No. 32 overall in Florida. His pledge is the 22nd for the Nittany Lions.
After finishing 21st in 2020, Penn State is outpacing every program in commitments through July and the 2022 class is No. 2 in the nation.

Camron Miller’s not just a cornerback
Though Camron Miller is a four-star prospect at cornerback, that’s not all he is. Last year, he was the starting quarterback for Fernandina High School and won Nassau County’s Offensive Player of the Year award.
Trinity has a new young quarterback, Colin Hurley, so the 6-foot, 180-pound athlete will split out wide for the Conqueror’s offense and catch passes instead.
“I play everywhere on the field,” Miller said. “I feel like that’s helped me develop intelligence and know what a receiver’s going to do because I’ve played receiver, running back, quarterback, everything.”
Miller’s length, quickness and fluidity on the field are apparent in his hudl tape. His frame has big growth potential. Often in the right place at the right time, he’s liable to grab several picks a season and take them to the house, too.
Miller is trying to get Trinity Christian a ninth state title this season and he’s eyeing the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year award, too.
