Nashville (Tenn.) Donelson Christian Academy On300 tight end Carson Sneed announced his commitment to Tennessee on Monday.

The four-star prospect becomes commit No. 2 for head coach Josh Heupel and the Vols in the 2026 cycle, joining the nation’s No. 1 ranked quarterback Faizon Brandon who gave his pledge over the weekend.

Sneed chose Tennessee over his other finalists in Auburn, Louisville, Ohio State and Ole Miss.

“It’s a great feeling,” Sneed said. “It’s something I’ve been chasing since I was a kid.

“And the future is bright. We’re trending up right now and that’s not stopping anytime soon.”

Sneed’s brother Dayton is a wide receiver in Knoxville. He’s been to campus numerous times including a return the last weekend in July.

“That’s home, it always has been,” Sneed said. “They recruited my family as hard as they recruited me.”

Sneed was able to commit during that trip.

“It was another good weekend on Rocky Top,” Sneed said. “They expressed how much they still want me and I got to meet some guys that they’re hard after.”

The On3 Industry ranks Sneed as the nation’s No. 9 tight end and No. 174 prospect overall. He is the No. 4 player in Tennessee.

Future position coach Alec Abeln was the lead recruiter for Sneed.

“(He) thinks I can be an every-down tight end in the NFL once I’m developed.”

Other offers for Sneed included Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma, Penn State, LSU, Kentucky and Texas A&M.
