CBS Sports predicts the AP Top 25 after Week 6
The AP Top 25 was completely overhauled following Week 5. With six new teams entering the rankings entering Week 6, things were wide open across the country. After Week 6, that is still true. This weekend wasn’t as upset-filled as last week, but there was plenty of excitement. Following all of the Week 6 action, CBS Sports has taken a stab at this week’s AP Top 25, predicting three new teams and lots of movement within.
Overall, AP Top 25 teams went 17-6 over the weekend. Three of those six losses were in matchups between two ranked teams, while the other three came against unranked opponents.
One of the biggest upsets of the weekend was Kentucky falling to South Carolina, albeit without quarterback Will Levis. The Wildcats have now dropped two games in a row, and could be in danger of falling out of the top 25. BYU also lost to an unranked opponent in the form of Notre Dame, putting the Cougars in danger of a drastic fall. Washington was the third ranked team to lose to an unranked opponent, falling to Arizona State.

LSU is sure to fall out of the rankings after being dominated by Tennessee, with the Vols poised to continue climbing. UCLA put itself firmly in the national spotlight on Saturday, picking up a strong victory over Utah to continue its recent surge. TCU and Kansas also fought off in a ranked contest, with the Horned Frogs edging out the Jayhawks with a seven-point victory. The undefeated run ends for Kansas, while Jalon Daniels is now banged up with a shoulder injury.

Alabama needed a goal-line stand as time expired to stave off Texas A&M, and NC State ultimately survived against Florida State 19-17. The Crimson Tide were without Bryce Young, and the Wolfpack had to play a large chunk of the game without Devin Leary.
After many other close calls and tight finishes, predicting the AP Top 25 is a tough task. But CBS Sports has tried, with some seismic movement for a few teams.
