Tuesday night produced another round of upsets in college basketball, with one coming in the Big 12 and another in the Big East. Firstly, Kansas State traveled down to Norman where Oklahoma was able to get an important NCAA Tournament resume win. Head coach Porter Moser needs to string a few together but one vs. the Wildcats was a start.

Providence beating Creighton in double overtime shook things up in the Big East, setting up what should be a fun final stretch of the season. With that came a new edition of the CBS Sports Top 25 and 1, with some movement occurring after those two results.

Kansas State fell four spots and out of the top 10, moving a few teams up one spot. The entire top nine remained the same but more action could be coming in the future. An important Wednesday slate is upon us as college basketball begins to heat up heading into March.

Important Wednesday slate on deck

Game of the night in college basketball will take place in Knoxville, where No. 1 Alabama will face off against Tennessee. An important one in the SEC regular season championship race, another road test is ahead of Nate Oats’ team.

Being this will be the only matchup between Alabama and Tennessee, both need wins for different reasons. The Crimson Tide are looking to maintain a perfect conference record, while Rick Barnes is fresh off a buzzer-beating loss to Missouri. Getting back on the right track is crucial for the Vols.

Elsewhere in the CBS Sports Top 25 and 1, a Big East battle could have major implications on the next set of rankings. Marquette and Xavier are set to battle, as first place in the conference are up for grabs. Sean Miller was able to take down Shaka Smart in Cincinnati earlier in the year.

Revenge will be on Golden Eagles’ minds on Wednesday night. A thrilling end to the Big East should be in front of us.
